Pieter's climate science

DID COVID IMPACT CLIMATE CHANGE?

Natural year to year variability of terrestrial ecosystems is ~0.4 ppm (1 standard deviation), which translates to 0.85 GtonC, or 3.1 GtonCO2. The decrease of fossil fuel and cement emissions (averaging 10 GtonC/year) was estimated as 5.4%, or 0.54 GtonC. This is well inside natural "noise".
